Yesterday was the first day of Fall. Here in North  American english, we say fall for autum. This  is my favorite time of the year. Late evening, I went for a walk with Derrick. The air was so crisp; I just loved it. The walk became so interesting as we watched nature’s colour change. The leaves on the trees were like flaming bushes - yellow, red and green. It was spectacular . The weather was a bit nippy, with the temperature dropping a bit in the evenings, so we wore a sweater. The coolness in the air just makes you energetic. I am already looking forward for my walks as I am a great lover of nature.

As a kid I craved for dinky cars i.e. the ones made by Matchbox. A lot of my friends had them and I used to love going over to their house to play with them. But, then, I could not spend my whole day at their place. They would get fed up of me, for sure.

When I was about 7 years old, my mom’s brother’s wife, Aunty Alda, was coming down from England for a short vacation and she was going to live with us for a few days. She asked us what we wanted and, without a doubt, I was absolutely sure I wanted dinky cars and that’s what I asked for. From that day on I could not wait for her to arrive.

Towards the mid of my week I start thinking what I will be doing on the weekend and the first thought that comes to my mind is my kitchen. I think of what greens can be stocked in my fridge and what and where to buy them from. Buying food from the grocery store does not give me pleasure as the veggies don’t have that earthly feel and fragrance, so sometimes I pass them by.

This weekend we went to the farmers’ market at St. Jacob, as my kids and hubby, Derrick, loves going there, too. This way I have an outing with the family and our grocery chore gets done, too. Also, we get excited as the kids and self pull out our market bags, which usually never get used. The cloth bags reminds me of the days when I was growing up days as I would  carry those bags for my mom when I went to the bazaar with her. Now, when I don’t use plastic bags, I feel I am doing my part towards the environment.

Great news! We’ve implemented sending of messages to other family members who have an account with us. It’s a simple messaging system and a member, once logged in, can communicate with any other member that has an account with us. They can view all their received and/or sent messages via their Inbox.
