At the beginning of this week we had heavy frost. It is good but also sad for my plants in the garden, as I see the sad end to my many plants. Today I got up early and went to put the garbage out. The wind was blowing quite heavy making the day very cold. The leaves were all blowing. I felt I stepped out into a magical moment of a cold, dark morning. After dropping the kids to school, I came back and went to take care of my lawn. I also went and brought some plants in for the winter. My vegetable garden is all wilted and sad looking. My morning glory didn’t bloom. The wind was so heavy that the trees are almost naked with bags full of leaves to rake. While I was busy working in the cold i thought of what to make for tonight’s dinner.
This is what I cooked….
- Cajun Catfish
- Mozzarella Sticks
- CousCous
- Fried Potatoes
- The Dinner Plate

Chemistry teacher, in class 9, was Mrs. Thomas. At the start of the period, she would, faithfully, do a roll call. When she called out my name, she would say – ‘Derrick Rocha’. She was from the south of India, you see. I would sit quietly and not respond. She would look up and question me and, as always, I would say that my name was not ‘Derrick Rocha’ and that is was ‘Derrick Roach’. She would smile, but the kick I got out of not answering and telling her that she was wrong, was really great.
